The Suga Weathering Technology Foundation awards research grants to those individuals who made distinguished lifetime achievements in advancing the understanding of accelerated weathering tests, degradation mechanisms, and improvement in the resistance of materials to degradation.

Suga Weathering Technology Foundation awards Research Grants to those who belong or are involved with universities, research institutes, academic societies or associations and:
(1) Individuals or research groups that have demonstrated past accomplishments in weathering technology or its related fields, with clearly defined, future research goals.
(2) Young researchers with strong interest in weathering technology or its related fields, and have a clearly defined research goal.
The Suga Weathering Technology Foundation awards as a minimum, two financial grants for 500,000 yen or 1,000,000 Yen, annually. Additional Suga Weathering Technology Foundation Research Grants may be awarded based on resources. The Research Grants are awarded for one year duration and their term coincides with the Suga Weathering Technology Foundation fiscal year between April 1 and March 31.
The progress obtained as a result of the Suga Weathering Technology Foundation Research Grant shall be reported by the end of the fiscal year.

(2) Except for cases stipulated by law, we will not provide personal information stated in the letter of recommendation to a third party without consent of the relevant person. However, we will announce the name, affiliation, research theme and outline of the award recipient in various media as well as our website.
